Happy Spring. The snow may finally be gone! Keep your fingers crossed. That means there is riding to be done. I’d like to remind everyone that there will be many opportunities to get your horses out, please check out the website calendar, it is full of activity.

It looks like the Horse Fair in Superior was very successful for promoting AHAGN, our table had many visitors interested in joining and or coming back. Great Job to the members who worked the table. A special thanks to Barbe Zimny for putting the information and the great display together, and also to Candace Thompson for getting in early to set up and greet visitors. It looked great gals. Recognition also goes to Marty Johnson and her family for the generous donation of the beautiful Breyer Black Stallion. Marty’s saddle shop provided the lovely model for the free drawing. Faith Runstrom was the lucky winner of the drawing, and the lucky ticket was pulled by AHAGN member Tate Olson. If you're interested in getting a Breyer of your own, stop in at Johnson’s Saddle Shop and pick up one or two for yourself, Marty has a great store and so much to choose from! Again, Thanks Johnson’s! Also, please be sure to Contact the Promotion Committee leader, Barbe Zimny, if you’d be interested in the next table set up, it is A LOT of fun! Also have your buisness cards ready, we are happy to hand them out. As an AHAGN member do not pass up on free advertisement for your wonderful farms and services.

The Trail Ride/Camping Committee is working on organizing the dates and places for the ride. The talented and well informed trail guide,Jerry Lislegard, has many trails in mind for the first AHAGN trail adventure, Jaime Runstrom will host the fall ride at the Bird sanctuary in WI. Sandy Cooke will head the central ride, at this time dates and times to be announced.

Candace Thompson has cordinated dates and has set up open rides hosted by AHAGN at the Dirt Floor Arena.  You must be a member of the Dirt Floor Arena to ride at any of the open rides. As a memeber you get use of the arena and 3 free playdays. The Arabian open rides are May 2 1-3, May 7 6-8, May 18 6-8 and July 21 6-8.  Dont forget a copy of your negatinve 2009 coggins to have on file at the DFA. Other activities. Check the calender offten for updates. contact Candace Thompson for more information

The photo contest has been extended for voting, all entry’s are full, so vote for your favorites! They are found on the website: ahagn.webs.com. The final vote will be held during the April meeting. We have had a steady number of new comers sitting in the meetings, we hope to see a few “old” faces and continued new ones. Our membership is back on the rise, keep up the good work on bringing new folks into the world of our Northern Arabians.

See you at the next meeting, see you soon!
